Open House

Join us for an exciting day of demonstrations, displays, food, fellowship, and fun! Sardis-Timmonsville Fire Department is hosting an open house at our station on East Smith St in Timmonsville to display to the community our services and equipment. Come by and see what we do, talk with our firefighters, have some refreshments and even learn how you can become a member!

Sardis-Timmonsville Fire Department was called out to a single family dwelling mobile home for a fire in the bedroom.  ST-2 arrived on scene and took command. Smoke showing from the back window of the home. Engine 411, Engine 441, Tanker 416, and Tanker 426 responded to the scene.  The family was outside of the residence. One family member closed the door to the bedroom before leaving the home and that helped to keep the fire contained to one room. One team made entry through the front door and found heavy smoke and small fire in the front bedroom. The team was able to put the fire out and keep most of the damage contained to one room of the home.

Brush Fire

Sardis-Timmonsville fire department was called to a brush fire off Brockington St. Engine 411 arrived on scene followed by Brush 415. ST-7 took command of the scene and reported to dispatch 3 acres were on fire at that time. Tanker 446 arrived on scene. ST-1 arrived on scene and took over command. Forestry was notified to respond with a plow due to multiple acres burning and limited access for fire trucks to gain access to the areas burning. Due to dry conditions and the wind, the fire quickly spread to consume multiple acres and into the near by woods.          .

Vehicle Fire 08/01/2018

At approximately 0410 this morning central dispatch alerted Sardis-Timmonsville to a vehicle fire at Ard Trucking on Alligator rd. While en route the information was updated to 2 trucks on fire inside the shop area. ST-1 arrived to find thick black smoke showing from all sides of the commercial structure. Engine 421 arrived and an aggressive interior attack was begun in near zero visibility conditions. Using a thermal imaging camera, the fire was located about 150 feet inside the building, and was extinguished. Both trucks were a total loss but multiple other vehicles in the building were not harmed. The building sustained smoke and heat damage.
Units on scene: Engine 421, Engine 411, Tanker 426, Service 418, Command 410, Command 420. Chief Jeff Dennis was Incident Commander.

Structure Fire 07/12/2018

Mutual Aid with Timmonsville Fire Department and Timmonsville Rescue.

First arriving crews found heavy fire throughout a barn in a residential area. Sardis-Timmonsville and Timmonsville Fire Department crews performed a quick knock down protecting any exposures and preventing any further damage.

Tractor Fire 11/07/2017

Sardis-Timmonsville Fire Department was dispatched Tuesday morning to a tractor on fire at Huggins Memorial Airport. Chief Dennis arrived on scene and reported a tractor with heavy fire coming from the engine. Engine 411 arrived shortly after, and quickly extinguished the fire. Tanker 426 also responded.
